Is it sufficient to hear 30 blasts of the shofar on Rosh Hashana?

Shalom Da’at Institute Rabbis,
I have a young baby and it’s hard for me to be away from home for a long period of time. Is it sufficient to hear 30 blows of the Shofar in synagogue, or must one remain to hear 100? Is this the Halachic law or “hiddur mitzvah” (enhancement)?

According to Jewish law, it is sufficient to hear only 30 blasts. It is desirable to hear the entire 100, but in a case like yours, where you need to be with your small baby, there’s no problem.

May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year!
