Burying the dead in a different country

A man came to Eretz Yisrael and passed away. His family wants to fly him back to their home country, where they have a family plot. Is this permissible?

  • Answer
The dead should not be removed from Eretz Yisrael, because the dust of Eretz Yisrael atones. If the person who had passed away requested a burial in a specific place, there are those who permit it.
