Brand name or brand new name

I have an item that wasn’t manufactured by the original brand but it’s the same exact item. Is it ok to sell it under the original brand name? No customer would be able to notice any difference in the product it’s just a brand that they are more familiar with.

Shalom and thank you for your question. You have merchandise which is equivalent to merchandise by a well-known brand, and you want to know if you can sell it under the name of the well-known brand. Halachically, (according to Jewish law) you cannot do this even though the product is the same. It is nevertheless considered deception.
