Regarding the melacha of laundering clothes, today it only involves pressing a button. Is it still forbidden on Rosh Chodesh?
There are authorities (Yalkut Yosef) who permit women to launder on Rosh Chodesh, based on the fact that it is not a time-consuming actitivity, but we take the stringent approach, because that is the tradition. Nevertheless, a woman may load the machine and have her husband or son press the button.
