Leasing a restaurant to a non-Jew

The Rav Name: Rabbi Boaz Yurkowitz

I am leasing my restaurant to a non-Jew for five years, and he is continuing to run it under the same name for the sake of the business image. I keep Shabbat, and the restaurant was previously closed on Shabbat. I have been told that it is problematic for the non-Jew to open it now on Shabbat. Is that correct?

That is correct. The solution is that when the person running the business advertises, he should advertise that the business is not only under new management, but under new ownership.
