Task performed by a Gentile in a hotel on Shabbat
If a Shaliach is living in a hotel owned by a Gentile, and the hotel owner hired workers to paint the windows, should the Shaliach prevent the workers from painting in the premises where he lives on Shabbat and Yomtov?
Answer: It is permissible to allow the workers to paint on Shabbat as instructed by the hotel owner, and it is not necessary to try to prevent them. It is not permissible however, to look at those windows on Shabbat in order to enjoy their new colour.
