May a pregnant woman whose clothing size is constantly changing, purchase new clothes during the first 9 days of Av?
It is forbidden to purchase new clothes for pregnancy, but in a case of urgent need, where the woman cannot wear her clothes, and she didn’t prepare beforehand, she may buy new ones. This is similar to the case of a groom or a bride, who may purchase new clothes in that time period.
If the pregnant woman does this, she should throw the new garment on the ground before she wears it, so that it won’t be like wearing a newly laundered garment.
